Bulukumba, 14 October 2023 – The Capture Fisheries Study Program from the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University, successfully conducted a community service event in Tanah Beru Village, Bonto Bahari District, Bulukumba Regency. The event aimed to raise awareness and provide education on implementing the new Measured Fisheries Regulation.
The session featured Prof. Dr. Ir. Najamuddin, M.Sc., a faculty member of the Capture Fisheries Study Program, as the keynote speaker. He delivered an in-depth presentation on the newly implemented regulations and their impact on the local fishing community. The discussion was facilitated by Mr. Ilham Jaya, ST., MM., who was the moderator. He is also a lecturer in the same study program.
The community service event attracted significant attention from the local fishermen and other community members, who actively participated in the discussion. This activity is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to engaging with the local community and supporting sustainable fisheries practices in the region. The event enhanced the understanding of new regulations and fostered dialogue on how the community can adapt to the changes for the sustainable development of fisheries in Bulukumba.
