Friday, March 8, 2024, the Fisheries Resource Utilization Study Program held the PSP Study Program Internship Practice Seminar at the 2nd-floor hall of the dean’s building of the Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries. This seminar was attended by a total of 74 students from the class of 2021 who had completed internships and practical work outside the campus environment. The activity aimed to assess the students’ understanding after engaging in practical experiences and internships at various fishing ports and marine and fisheries agencies in regions such as Untia Fishing Port, Makassar, Kendari Ocean Fishing Port, Beba Fish Landing Site, Mamuju Marine and Fisheries Service, and several fish landing sites in South Sulawesi Province.

The students delivered presentations regarding the activities they had undertaken at their respective internship agencies. This event served not only as the culmination of their internship journey but also as a moment for them to exchange information and share experiences and knowledge gained during their time at these agencies. The presentations and discussions were conducted with great enthusiasm by students who had faced various challenges in the field.
Several lecturers served as examiners for this activity, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Najamuddin, M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Andi Assir Marimba, M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Alfa Nelwan, M.Si, Muhammad Kurnia, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D., Ir. Ilham Jaya, MM., and Dr. Rachmat Hidayat, S.Pi. The role of the examining lecturers was to provide encouragement and support to the students, ensuring they could explain every aspect of their internship reports comprehensively and clearly. Additionally, the examining lecturers expressed their appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the students who had successfully completed this internship practice, which is one of the requirements for student graduation. It is hoped that the students who have completed this internship exam can have a positive impact on themselves and gain valuable insights for their future job searches.
