Makassar, August 13, 2025 – The Capture Fisheries Study Program (PSP) at Hasanuddin University officially welcomed new students for the 2025/2026 academic year. The welcome was held through the New Student Orientation Ceremony (PKKMB). The PKKMB event serves as a gateway for new students to begin their academic journey at Unhas, including in the Fisheries Resource Utilization Program. The activity aims to provide new students with an understanding of campus life, available facilities, and the academic and cultural values that are part of the Unhas community.

The PKKMB event was attended by various parties, including faculty members and some lecturers who welcomed and motivated the new students. New students of the PSP program are expected to develop their potential to tackle global challenges in the fields of fisheries and natural resources. Additionally, during the PKKMB, new students were introduced to various important aspects that will support their academic journey, such as an overview of the PSP program curriculum, the Campus Information System (Sikola), the Unhas Academic System (Sipakamase), and the importance of the Academic Transcript (SKPI) in developing student competencies. They were also equipped with knowledge on how to complete the Study Plan Form (KRS) and utilize the Neosia application as part of the academic system at Unhas.
The Capture Fisheries Study Program at Unhas remains committed to producing competent, integrity-driven graduates who are ready to contribute to sustainable fisheries resource management. With the admission of these new students, it is hoped that Unhas will continue to be a center of education that produces fisheries experts capable of addressing challenges in the national and international fisheries sectors.
