A team of PSP students won 3rd Place in the Scientific Paper category at the National Maritime Student Competition (KKMN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team was led by Andi Aliyah Tenri Awaru, a Capture Fisheries Study Program student from the class of 2024, along with two members, Rahmah Daniyati and Nabila Zahirah Putri Amri. They presented a scientific paper titled <em>\u201cMapNest: Geospatial Navigation Innovation for Digital Intervention in Marginal Coastal Areas.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The paper introduced an innovative idea on the use of geospatial technology to support infrastructure development and maritime connectivity, particularly in marginal coastal areas that are often overlooked in national development. Specifically, the proposed system, MapNest, is aimed at providing spatial information, managing visitors, and enhancing safety systems on small islands. By offering accurate mapping of coastal and island environments, MapNest delivers essential data to support planning and decision-making. At the same time, it enables the regulation of visitor activities to maintain sustainability, while also integrating navigation and early warning features to improve safety for communities and users who depend on maritime routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/psp.fikp.unhas.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.56.36_6050809c-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2987\" style=\"width:524px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/psp.fikp.unhas.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.56.36_6050809c-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/psp.fikp.unhas.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.56.36_6050809c-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/psp.fikp.unhas.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.56.36_6050809c-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/psp.fikp.unhas.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-09-02-at-12.56.36_6050809c.jpg 1156w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the competition, the PSP team was guided by their supervisor, Andi Risda Fitrianti Abudarda, S.Pi., M.Si. \u201cThis achievement is proof that PSP students possess a strong spirit of innovation as well as awareness of strategic issues in the maritime sector,\u201d said Andi Risda Fitrianti Abudarda.
