By the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 036\/O\/1996 on January 21, 1996, the Capture Fisheries Study Program was established under the care of the Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Marine Sciences and Fisheries. Later on, by the Decree of Directorate General of Higher Education Number 234\/DIKTI\/KEP\/1996 on July 11, 1996, the Capture Fisheries Study Program was proven to be qualified to stand independently as a study program and has the ability to manage relevant undergraduate program of the university.<\/p>\n
